Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.” Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
Matthew 11:4‭-‬6‭, ‬11 NIV +

“When John the Baptist sent his disciples to ask if Jesus was the one who is to come, Jesus answered it this way: ‘Go and report to John what you have witnessed.’

Then, Jesus praised John as the greatest. John fulfilled the purpose God had given him without a hiccup or hesitation. His dedication to the deed was unmatched by anyone.

Yet, Jesus adds that the least in the Kingdom of heaven is greater than he. It literally means that any of you are greater than John the Baptist without his dedication or the sacrifices he made.

How, you ask? It is because you know exactly who Jesus is. It is because you can recognize his voice and have no doubt.

It is our given privilege as those who have received salvation through Christ.

So, brothers and sisters in Christ, what is he doing around you now?

‘But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.’ – Matthew 13:16

Let’s open our eyes and ears and seek him.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Can you picture the scene that Paul is describing here?

Imagine yourself running a very important race. You are surrounded by numerous people who want you to win. They are all encouraging you and cheering for you. They trust you and have faith in you. There is Jesus, who has already endured inevitable hardships for you, waiting with a crown of victory.

May this be your life this week as you run a race that you have already won in Christ.

Bless you, for He who is with you is the Most High.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

How many things does God do behind the scenes?

He is always at work to protect, nurture, and love you in many different ways.

Perhaps, he is keeping you from harm’s way, but we don’t know about it.

Perhaps, through all the trials you are going through, he is building something great out of us, but we just don’t know about it.

He who loves you is with you.

He who is in control is with you.

Search for Him, for he has made all things known to you.

You are precious to Jesus.
