A Christmas message from Thandokazi on behalf of Vuku Family.
When we look towards December 25th Christmas Day, it is when everyone celebrates with their family and sometimes there are gifts on the day. He who has received a gift welcomes and enjoys it, and he who has not received a gift becomes sad. Jesus was birthed by Mary and was conceived by the Holy Spirit. This means that Jesus was not born in the same way as everyone else. Mary had to believe in the angel of God when he told her about the way she would receive the baby, even though at first she did not believe. Luke 1:34 shows Mary’s lack of understanding, while verse 38 shows Mary’s belief in this miracle. When we look at the year 2020, things did not go well with the coronavirus, losing loved ones, and unemployment, this has caused us to be doubtful. Through all those things, Jesus did not forsake us, not because we did well or because we have great faith, but because He is a gift to us. May we enjoy this Christmas with our loved ones with the faith that even in this situation/time Jesus will carry us and protect us until we see each other again next year.

Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
John 14:24
We act on our instincts and desires.
Therefore, when you look at someone’s action, it reveals the heart.
And when you look at the heart, it reveals the motives.
Just like you take an unnecessary long walk to go see our loved ones, our motives to follow Jusus’s ways must be for our love for Him.
It should not be for becoming a great person, getting rewarded, nor being loved by others, but to show our love for Jesus.
Abundant love
For the last 5 years, we have witnessed the growth of Christ’s love in Thembeka as a Vuku leader.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16
What is our good deeds?
What do they need to see from us in order to glorify our Father in heaven?
It is the love of Jesus. The desire to bring them to our heavenly Father, so they may experience the fullness of life and have eternal life.
When it shines through us, they will see God through Jesus and glorify him.
That is the love we received from Jesus.
Nokuzola’s group
Nokuzola started her own Vuku group. It is our first group from a partnership with ChungWon Church in Bloekombos. There are two more groups that will begin this week.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:3
When we think about God’s kingdom, it is a far way perfect land. So seek his kingdom feels very abstract and remote.
But his kingdom is wherever his people are. Jesus said, “Who is my mother and who are my brothers?” He points to the disciples and says, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
Therefore, you are his people and his kingdom is among you.
Seek first his kingdom.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
In the book of Ecclesiastes, it teaches guides us that we will face many different things in life.
Also we should practice our wisdom to discern when to smile and when to fight.
Yet, in all the things we do, there is one thing we should not lose, the love of Jesus.
His love is beyond seasons and circumstances. It has to be the foundation of everything that we do.
Always love as he loved us.
March for a good reason
We resumed Vuku training in Bloekombos ChungWon Church. It was an amazing time.

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Colossians 1:16-17
Life is tough. Things that happen in life can easily hurt and damage us. We do everything that we can do to prevent it, but we have to admit that we are vulnerable beings.
The biggest damage that the world can do to us is changing us. We get tired and manipulated into becoming someone we never meant to be or wanted to.
It is a fearful world.
However, knowing Jesus is such a life changing experience. He keeps us inline and gives us strength to endure through any challenges.
Because all things were created in him, we don’t need to fear anything.
So when we are finally finished with this fearful world, we will be with him for eternity as we were created to be.
Just like coming home to where you are accepted and loved. Where you can rest and feel comforted…. in his arms.
Nothing can separate us from Jesus.

Making a child’s day is not so difficult. Just lose the fear of, ‘They might break it.’

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But you, man of God, flee from all this (worldly desires), and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
1 Timothy 6:6-7, 11
If we can’t take nothing out of this world, what should we work for?
How shall we achieve the contentment, when all things will pass?
In this Paul’s letter to Timothy, he advises to pursuit righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. These are the characters that Jesus builds in you as you walk with him.
It means your identity and characters in Christ are the things will be with you for eternity.
Who you are in Christ is the everlasting gift from God.
A catching up time with Siyolise.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

Self-awareness
I thought self-awareness just to realize yourself, to know yourself, to understand yourself before. I just realized that it was very surfaced level of understanding. Self- awareness is not just to understand yourself, it’s actually to understand your heart. Everyone has a self operating system inside of our body or our mind. We spend over decades to build up those operating systems, it includes our habitats, the way of our thinking, our behaviours; it makes each individual is different, the personality is different, no matter we proud of it or shame of it, it is in our body. We carry it daily, and we let it operate our life. We’ve never feel it’s wrong, every things seems it supposed to be because it’s became as our natural. Sometimes, we realized we should improve or something wrong, and then we learn the new skills, new knowledge, looking for tools to correct our thinking or behaviour, but it won’t last long. Why? Because all of those tools we found are from outside, it’s not from inside. We need inner force to make it change, to let us find of our own self- awareness. If we could realize this, we won’t be able to truly feel the love from the God.
Innocence is a street vender. One day he stopped next to my car and said, “Can I have a shirt that says ‘I’m precious to Jesus’?”

As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him. Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. And all people will see God’s salvation.’ ”
Luke 3:4-6
I can read this passage over and over.
We are the voices of ones calling in the wilderness.
We are called and appointed to remove anything that hinders people from seeing Jesus.
It is not because we are strong and powerful, but because we love Him so much.
The one who made the crookest road straight and filled the deepest valley, so I could come to his everlasting love.
Let all see his amazing love!
