Our first Zimbabwean Vuku Group. They also live as foreigners in South Africa, which is tough. Yet, they have the most amazing smiles on their faces.

“But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:35‬

Love your enemies.

It is very hard to practice. It is hard, because we have a wrong idea of what love is.

He is not asking us to love our enemies as we love our families.

He is asking us to love them as Jesus loves them. Jesus has same compassion even for our enemies.

The passage is not about our enemies, but obeying Jesus’s command, ‘Love each other as I have loved you.’

I know it is a hard idea, but let’s try to love those we have a hard time with as Jesus loves us.
