What we need vs. God’s Kingdom.

It is not a contract or compensation like ‘we do for God and He will pay my ways.’

When we seek His Kingdom, we become free from the ways of the world.

It is like growing up at a small village following the rules of the elders, then coming to Cape Town and finding out about SA government.

When you seek His Kingdom first, we learn about how it works in Jesus’s presence, which is very different from the world.

Unless we let go the ways of the world, we will not see His Kingdom in full.

It starts with one step with Jesus.

Body of Christ

When we depended on each other in Christ, it has to be based on trust and respect for one another. We went to encourage Thembisa for sharing Jesus’s love can be tough.

What is a church?

I vividly remember praying for a community that share the same passion and joy in Christ.

Where a body of belivers who work to share Jesus’s love in the world and come back to find peace and comfort among believers.

Yet, I found more divisions in churches and struggles that were crippling than empowering.

My hope for a such church seemed like an unobtainable ideal.

Now, I have you, Vuku Family, where I find peace and comfort, where I find strength and courage.

Indeed, what Jesus has done through Vuku Family is beyound I could ask or imagine.

Jesus will be praised by me for ever and ever.

In order to properly share Jesus’s wonderful work in Yondela’s life, we need to trace back at least one year. Many things have happened to get to this point. We can testify that her joy comes from none other than Jesus. She now has a loving family and a bright future.

So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.

Why did God linked the victory over Amalekites with Moses arms being raised?

Certainly, every bit of the victory was God’s work.

It may signifies our attitutes or hearts when God’s work/will being done in our lives.

We can’t just be ignorant and heartless expecting God to work things out for us.

In our hearts, we have to have Son of Men raised up high focusing every bit of attention on Jesus.

And we need to help each others as Aaron and Hur had done.

Let’s raise our Lord Jesus high in our hearts together.

“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.
Joshua 1:7

It was a message given to Joshua after the death of Moses. Obviously, the message needs reinterpretations through the love of Christ.

‘Obeying all the laws’ means keeping Him in our hearts and minds at all time.

‘Do not turn from it to the left or to the right’ means not to leave God’s love.

‘May be successful where ever you go’ means God’s will and plans will be done in our lives.

Let’s seek his face today.

Deepening friendship in Christ

Nolitha and Nolwethu has been friends for a long time. Initially, Nolitha was hesitant to start Vuku meeting with her due to fear of jeopardising their friendship. Now, they can’t stop studying on the Vuku book together.

How did Jesus find you?

He said he came to find the lost, and we all were once lost.

He came to me in my darkest hour.
He came to me when I couldn’t love myself.

As if he knew that I needed him, and offered me hope.

The hope of better days.
The hope of little help.

Now I see it wasn’t just better days or mere help.

It was a joyful life.
It was redeeming love.

I was found in Christ.

As I have been going around to the Vuku groups, what kept on coming to my heart was ‘hope’.

I’m starting to catch on what God is doing and what to come.

Someone might call it a vision, but I’d like to leave it up to God, what it will be. Yet I’m overwhelmed.

Out of what God has done in you, your family, and also in your group, I’d like us to dream and hope where our Lord is leading us. What we would be like together in the future. What would Jesus do through us.

Today, let’s take a breath and enjoy our hope in Christ.

Building courage & strength

There is a saying in Xhosa, “utatam ufe ethwele umqwazi”. It translates ‘My father died with his hat on’, and it means my father doesn’t know me. They all need someone to depend on until they are ready for the world, yet many children grow up feeling unaccepted.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38‭-‬39

What does that mean being separated from the love of God?

Death exists & life exists.
Worries of today and tomorrow exist.
There are (worldly and evil) powers that affects us.
So does height and depth.

Then, what does it mean that nothing will speprate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus?

It simply means that how scary all the things (in all creation) might seem, nothing can be strong enough to overpower the presence of Jesus in you.

Nothing…

As long as you have Jesus in you, nothing will derail you from God’s Good plan for your life.

You have a gift of life that nothing and nobody can take away.

The Lords prayer.

He said to them when you pray say.

Father hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. and lead us not into temptation.

Amen.

Praying is our need and when we pray we come near to God and something happens in our hearts and to our faith. when we pray we need to pray with a heart and mind that is empty of what we think we need to get by so that our Lord can come and fill us with his presence and lead us.

This verse is actually referring to each and every one of us who might have faced or have been facing the ups and downs in life it’s encouraging us to stand firm in the Lord not to be shaken by whatever situation we might be facing we should take heart and be encouraged by the good Lord.We need to encourage each other,to lift each other to hold hand in hand.We need to be united and walk tall for God is for us .Amen

One of the important points of the Vuku Workbook is how significant and precious you are in Christ.

Many people feel they are helpless and powerless, but the truth is quite the opposite.

You are annointed with the power of the holy spirit and you have power to help and guide others who stumbles.

And when it is done in love, you will witness God’s miracle that lasts for eternity.

You are an anointed child of God.
