Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

When you think of peace, what is the first thing that comes to your mind?
Often times, when we think about peace, we think of it as the absence of troubles or conflict. In reality, peace is a state of mind that does not rely on outside circumstances. When we’re accustomed to conflict and trouble, the promised peace of God is something desirable, but also something that we can’t even begin to imagine.
Peace sounds great, but is it applicable to MY life? Can I experience the peace that Jesus talked about?
When Peter was called forth to step out of the boat and walk on the water to join Jesus, he had faith. He listened to what Jesus asked of him. It was after stepping out onto the water, however, that Peter was distracted and overcome with fear. He looked at the waves, he took notice of the high winds, and he began to sink. He allowed the distractions to steal his peace.
In times of distraction, uncertainty, and anxiety, we need to open up our Bible. Only then, when we trust him at His word, will we be able to take on the day with a peaceful mindset
