God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized.
Hebrews 6:10-11 NIV +
Written by Jung
“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” These were the words of one of the criminals who was being crucified alongside Jesus. As his life was about to come to an end, this might have been the only request truly worth making to Jesus.
It can be said that the desire for Him to remember us symbolizes our yearning for salvation.
Now, here lies a paradox. Is that all salvation offers? If you have a conviction, is everything fine and dandy? Or is it there much more that we are missing in the package?
Often, we hesitate to grow and mature in Christ due to fear. The path it might lead us on appears challenging. The changes it demands may seem overwhelming. We hold onto certain aspects of ourselves that we’re reluctant to let go of.
So, live the life the gospel shows you without reservation and hesitation. Share love and serve one another with the genuine love of Christ that liberates us. God will undoubtedly remember every single thing you do out of love for Him.
“Peter, do you truly love me?”
