For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.+

Before you become shocked or determined to give away everything you own, let’s take a step back and ask ourselves a question:

Where is your heart right now? What concerns you and occupies your mind? Whatever it may be, that is your treasure. If your thoughts revolve around making money most of the time, then your treasure is the wealth you aim to accumulate. If your focus is on building your own house, then your treasure lies in your future dwelling. If fear consumes you, then your well-being becomes your treasure.

In such cases, giving away all your possessions will not grant you treasure in heaven. However, if the kingdom of heaven is your overwhelming thought and your excitement about being with Christ knows no bounds, then you already possess treasure in heaven.
