But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.
1 Corinthians 15:10
Written by Papama
In verse 9 of this chapter Paul describes himself as being unworthy of being apostle of Christ because he persecuted the church of God.
To go from being a persecutor of God’s people to God’s messenger is a big turnaround. Yet, Paul takes no credit for this transformation.
Even as he acknowledges the amount of work that he had to put in he still insists that it was God’s grace that gave him the ability to work hard. Paul says that it is the Grace of God that made Him what He was.
Paul did not earn his title as an apostle. In fact he did the opposite of that. Yet, Jesus confronted him on his way to persecute more Christians and challenged his heart. Paul came out of that encounter transformed and was sent to take the gospel to the world.
Jesus is not asking us to change and be good enough to serve Him. He is calling us to Him as we are so that we may be transformed by His Grace.
So whatever it is that is holding you back or making you feel unworthy of being His servant Jesus is asking you to bring to Him. His Grace is enough to transform even the hardest of hearts.
May His Grace be with you as you continue to seek Jesus in your life.
