The Vuku Hubby group had its first breakfast meeting. The group picture didn’t turn out, but I saved one I took with Mzuphela, Ria’s husband.

The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. For it is written: “ ‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’ ” Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’ ”

Luke 4:9‭-‬12

The last of the three temptations of Jesus.

The first two were

  1. Depending on God and not my ability.
  2. Give Glory to God and not to myself.

The last one is rather simple. It is to respect God’s authority.

The question the was this.

“Will you keep your faith in God even though he does not do what you need him to do?”

Often, we feel neglected and abandoned, because we feel God doesn’t do anything when we need something from him.

However, God is God and he is with us. He is working according to plan and will.

Your faith should be on Jesus and him alone and not on what he does for you.

‘He is my father but he doesn’t buy me anything’ doesn’t apply here.
