Our Greenfield cutie, Ayola.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
Matthew 16:24
Denying yourself carries quite a bit of heaviness. Let me try to lighten it up for you.
Let’s say you have only one pot and you have been cooking Umngqusho in it for a long time day and night. When you want some, you just dish some and eat.
Still, Umngqusho is still being cooked in the same pot until the next meal.
One day Jesus comes and says, “Bring me a pot. I will make the most amazing Umphokoqo for you and you shall eat it for the rest of your life. You won’t need anything else.”
What do you do? Do you just bring the full pot of Umngqusho?
No. You dump it out and clean all the beans and Samp out, gunky and burt part alike, right?
I know you like Umngqusho. However, only when the pot is clean from Umngqusho, it will bring out new wonderful flavour of Umphokoqo, right?
Don’t make Umngq-koqo. It won’t be nice.
Clean out your old habits or preferences, even good ones. Take courage and do things you have never done. Let Jesus turn your weakness into strength.
Let Jesus work on you. Let him recreate you as beautiful as He intended you to be.
