These ladies are the stars of Mannenberg: from left, Dorothy, Vera, and Zelda. They have been non-stop, sharing how Jesus’ love has transformed themselves and the people around them. + Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.
2 Corinthians 4:1-2 NIV +
Written by Jung
Mercy, by definition, is the compassion or forgiveness shown to others. The phrase ‘Through God’s mercy, we have this ministry’ reminds us that none of us are worthy or capable of God’s ministry, and we are not qualified to preach the truth without the presence of God’s spirit within us.
Even if the ministry is not going as we hoped, we shouldn’t be disappointed. Our rewards are not based on how many souls we win, but on how faithfully we keep God’s spirit pure within us. So, there is no need to struggle to bring your ministry to success; instead, seek His deepest love and compassion for His people.
Therefore, we should present ourselves without relying on tricks or skills mastered in the world. Instead, we must focus on achieving the goal of reflecting God’s mercy and love to the best of our ability.
In short, there is no need to be anxious. God wins, and we need nothing more and nothing less than Him to see how precious we are to Him.
