+Hebrews 10:16-18 (NIV) “This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”
Then he adds:
“Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more.”
And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.+

This passage is from Jeremiah 33. When I read it, it reminded me of the story in the Vuku Family Workbook. The story titled ‘Deep Empty Water Hole’ is found at the end of Part 4 – People Around Us (Page: 107). It talks about a Jackal who is unruly to everyone else, causing much damage, and continually manages to evade punishment. When the time comes to go to a Heaven-like place, he cannot forget what he has done to everyone else and ultimately gets himself kicked out of the Heaven-like place.
The moral of the story is that God offers salvation through Jesus, but when we don’t fully surrender to Jesus’ love, we end up condemning ourselves for the sins we have committed.
When we try to achieve worthiness or remedy our shortcomings through our own strength or works, we inevitably cannot trust the outcome and cannot escape from guilt or consequences.
It is His Grace that sets us free.
