He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
John 15:2
by Helen.
When you read the verse, ” he cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit”, it sounds quite harsh to me at first. I feel like saying, “Jesus, you have a compassion. Please don’t cut it off!” He sounds so cold and mean. It makes me doubt if Jesus had compassion at all?
But if you take a second and read the next verse. It says he does it to prune, to make it better. He cuts it off from the body of the tree. Which part? The branch that does not bear fruits. He throws it away.
When you belong to Jesus, he begins his work in you. So you would be EVEN more fruitful. It becomes from one fruit to a tree with many fruits.
Trust him, and his work in you.
