My friend Jannie is in Manila for Lausanne Global Workplace Forum. So proud of him.
But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Matthew 7:26-27
Jesus’s teaching has to be practiced purely in your life.
I know it is not convenient and doesn’t fit well. Just like the rock foundation, the house has to be reshaped to accommodate the bumps and the angles of the rock.
So it is easier to use sand foundation. We pack it tight so it can support the weight.
Now just like the sand foundation, Jesus’s teaching fits to me and who I am.
I don’t want to change and I practice what I can.
Sometimes we convince ourselves, ‘Ah that doesn’t make sense to me’ or ‘It’s impossible.’
But the ‘hard’ packed sand foundation disappears with time and challenges.
I know the rock foundation doesn’t fit well or look nice, but it’s okay, stay on it, my family.
