+Hebrews 6:1-3 (NIV) Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And God permitting, we will do so.+

The book of Hebrews was written to the people of Israel. Oh boy, did they know how to worship God devoutly! Their culture revolved around worshiping and living for God, or at least their intentions did.
Now, Paul is challenging new Christ believers (converts) to move beyond elementary teachings and onto maturity.
What does it mean to mature?
It may sound like gaining more knowledge, but it actually involves transforming our lives according to Christ’s teachings. While the Israelites were familiar with cleansing rituals and religious practices/doctrines, Paul is encouraging them to renew what they knew and had done, but in a Christ-centered way.
In essence, it means moving beyond merely knowing Christ and transforming every aspect of your life accordingly.
