“And now, Israel, listen carefully to these decrees and regulations that I am about to teach you. Obey them so that you may live, so you may enter and occupy the land that the Lord , the God of your ancestors, is giving you.
Deuteronomy 4:1
Israelite were rebellious and resistant for 40 years.
Now Moses is challenging the new generation how to live when they enter the promised land.
That is to listen to God and be obedient. The our motivation follow his commands must be from our love for God.
And that was the point of the Moses message.
Love your God with all your heart and nothing else.
